As required by EMCA Cap 370 as well as Environment Management and Coordination (Waste Management Regulations, 2006) and National guidelines on safe management and disposal of asbestos, a comprehensive ESIA for removal, handling and disposal of asbestos MUST be done by NEMA accredited Lead Expert or firm of Experts before commencing the work and License issued by NEMA that will specify safe conditions for removal, handling and disposal of asbestos.
A risk assessment MUST also be conducted prior to the disturbance, repair or removal of asbestos containing materials to determine which action is to be taken. The purpose is to identify the location and gauge the condition of the material prior to the work, as well as any other potential hazards that might affect the workers.
In the event that ESIA and Risk assessment has not been undertaken for removal, transportation and disposal of asbestos roofing sheets, Greenrock Ventures Ltd through its registered EIA/EA specialty Experts undertake a comprehensive ESIA study and pursue the license on behalf of the client at an agreed cost within the shortest time possible.
